Andreea Castrase

Andreea Castrase is an MA and BA Fashion Design Graduate of the University of Art and Design Cluj-Napoca and is currently pursuing doctoral studies at the same institution.

The interdisciplinary dimension of conceptual fashion has been one of the central themes in the projects carried out over time, assimilating cultural references and influences from different creative fields.

She gained professional experience during an internship while working for Ann Demeulemeester, one of the most representative designers of contemporary conceptual and avant-garde fashion.

She also worked as an intern and Fashion Designer in the Creative Departments of H&M, in Stockholm.

Andreea Castrase has participated with fashion design projects in various national and international events: International Fashion Showcase at London Fashion Week, within the “Standpoint” exhibition, Romanian Design Week, Bucharest, “Ingmar Bergman and His Legacy in Fashion and Art”, at the Art Museum in Cluj-Napoca.

She has won a series of national and international awards, and the most important are: Best Young Designer Award at the ELLE Style Awards, Romania; 1st place / Prize for the best fashion project in the competition organized by NOWFASHION and Mod’art institution, Paris. Along with Nowfashion co-founder, Valerio Nappi, and editor-in-chief Jessica Michault, the jury included some of the industry’s most influential figures such as: Diane Pernet, Mario Lefranc – Hermès studio director, Jessica Dufour – Galeries Lafayette representative; Beau Monde Magazine’s “Crystal Globe” Award for “Best Young Designer”; Like New Designers by Atelier Perwoll: Henkel Award for Best Fashion Designer in Partnership with Molecule F and Band of Creators.

Her creations have appeared in reviews and editorials of prestigious publications such as: Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Beau Monde, Glamour, The One, The Institute, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, A-List Magazine, NowFashion.com, Fashion & Beauty.ro etc
