KAN’s mission is to create unique sustainable chic garments, kind and respectful to our planet and its living beings.
Everything started five years ago in Mexico City. Being exposed to Mexico’s gifted artists and artisans grounded our vision for creating KAN. Their fearless use of colour, blending fascinating patterns with motifs from the natural world, inspired us to do what we’ve always dreamt of: to design unique ready-to-wear garments, made with love of culture, people and our world.
Blessed with the unforgettable experience Mexico has given us, we then set to pursue a new chapter in our brand’s existence and relocated to Romania, our home. Here we started experimenting with new designs and natural materials, sourcing our fabrics from sustainability-focused European suppliers and becoming more socially and environmentally conscious than ever before. The time for change is NOW.
We know that we are responsible for what we leave behind for both our planet and the generations to come. At KAN we are constantly educating ourselves, learning and improving our processes to minimise our social and environmental impact. We are proud of the progress we have made so far and keep pushing every day to become the most sustainable version of ourselves.
We are committed to: using sustainable fabrics, such as organic wools and vegan leathers, next to linens and cottons; reducing our carbon footprint by sourcing our fabrics and producing our garments in Europe; reducing dead stock without overproducing, by constantly monitoring our inventory, which we replenished based on customer demand; taking care of each other, employing only fairly paid labour and making sure our team has safe working conditions and a healthy balance between their personal and professional lives; fostering a diverse, inclusive and meritocratic working environment; creating high quality pieces of timeless nature that can be worn for years to come.
Next to our online store, our garments can be found on leading online multi-brand retailers, such as: About You, Zalando, Fashion Days and Plain Tiger, among others. For 2023, we are planning an expansion to the United States.
